Dumpster Diving and the Summer Festival

Nikkei Simmer: The thing with being up at 4 in the morning is that most of the time, you're trying to keep from fallling asleep again. It was all I could do to keep myself from pitching face-first into the fire-pit while roasting breakfast. Then it was off to try to make some money. When one has tasted freedom, you don't wanna be stuck in a cubicle so I figured diving for trash was more palatable than sitting in a four by four behind a desk making money for someone else.

Heather Lee: Dumpster Diving was probably not the healthiest way to earn a living, but it seemed to be the quickest way to find things that we needed to turn a quick simoleon. And that's what we needed: simoleons and lots of it. But diving headfirst into the dumpster reminded me of how Princess Leia must have felt diving headfirst into the Death Star garbage chute. And like she articulated in that said garbage chute: "It could be worse." And a Han Solo quote came to mind not soon thereafter: " Garbage chute. Really wonderful idea. What an incredible smell you've discovered!"

Heather Lee: After a refreshing shower, we decided to check out the Summer Festival and grab ourselves a bite to eat because our money-making exertions left us with an appetite that a cardboard tub of ice-cream could not fill. And it was an opportunity to check out the gastronomical offerings of the food vendors.

Nikkei Simmer: Once I was finished my food, I headed off to the pond to see if I could catch our dinner for the next few nights. Considering the fact that spending simoleons we had earned was not a constructive way of earning money to build our dream house. we had to find a way of making sure that we retained the money that we earned from the junk that we were able to sell after our noxious dives into the waste receptacles of Sunset Valley.

Heather Lee: Living out of a tent and eating fish cooked in a firepit might be alright for people who are camping, but day in and day out it starts to wear on you.

Nikkei Simmer: We did, however, find ways to distract ourselves from the dour thoughts. ~smirk~
