New Digs and a Lot of Hard Work

Nikkei Simmer: We were able to build a two bedroom house fully furnished (OK...maybe no couch and entertainment items). We bought a bunk bed for Phil and Noel, and a large bed for Heather and myself. It was a cheap bed, but still, you know what they say, if you gotta save money comfort is the first to go. At least we didn't skimp on the stove or the fridge. Those were essential items and we splurged on them.

Heather Lee: It was nice to be out of the elements and the weather was extreme in temperature variation. I'm sure Noel and Phil were happy about it too, although they went ahead and got jobs quickly. Phil went into the cooking field (he actually did this in real life - to start...) and Noel went into the business field working at DooPeas Towers.

Nikkei Simmer: Our house was no mansion like the ones that we were living beside - I mean Villa Alto was immense and so was the Landgraab's place. And our little shack probably must have been an eyesore to them, but the only person who seemed to have his nose stuck in the air was Nick Alto. And from what we had heard, he married into money. Yeah...those guys tend to be snooty Sims. So, we kept to ourselves and just enjoyed the little two bedroom shack that we had.

Heather Lee: Our room was a nice little place, I like blue, but NS likes it more and well, it was well worth painting it in his favorite color. After all that painting that afternoon, we christened the bed. And actually that was the most fun activity that we had that day.

Nikkei Simmer: Let's just say that bed got a lot of use... ~smug grin~

Noel Allan: If you two could knock it off for a while, that would be nice. You do know I have work in the morning?

Heather Lee: So my boyfriend decided that the better part of discretion would be to go fish and I don't mean the game. Fishing started out small...with §10 fish and building up from there as one's experience grew. However the real gold was at the end when one reaches Level 10 in fishing skill. So now that we had an address we were allowed to get a job. I chose to stay self-employed as did my boyfriend. He became an angler, and I became a painter. There will always be one of each in each generation as we begin to build our legacy. And one of us will garden and that will also be a job in every generation. After all, we do need to keep ourselves fed.

...and NS always came home in the dark from fishing...but at least he was doing what he could to help provide for our little family even though what was brought in was small for the amount of time spent on it. I have to say though that I'm happy that my paintings are increasing in value.

...at least we're pointed in the right financial direction...and maybe just maybe, one of these days we'll have a place worthy of our legacy of hard work...
